Hi 👋 I’m Jennifer Williams
I’m the breeder behind U Need A Doodle located in Ellijay, GA. I have spent almost two decades becoming the best breeder of goldendoodles in the Southeast.
We started our journey with our first goldendoodle, Zoey, in 2005, followed by our most “famous” doodle, Moose. These two would be the foundation of the U Need A Doodle line. They were gentle, smart, funny, social, beautiful dogs that we hold as the gold standard for our breeding goals. We want all of our families to experience the best of the best!
We have built our forever home, Willow’s End, in the mountains of North Georgia and have fully come into our “crazy dog people” era by customizing to suit our pack and our puppies. We are NOT a kennel 🙅🏻♀️. We believe that part of what makes our dogs so amazing is that they are welcomed into the world with boundless love, attention, socialization, and freedom to explore.
The “Puppy Room” is where all of our puppies are born and begin their lives. We use a modular whelping system that grows with mama and babies and allows them to be safe and comfortable while they are still tiny.
Eventually, though, they outgrow the Puppy Room and that’s when our little fluffy troops take over the rest of the home. They are raised like one of our own pack from day one!
This experience sets them up for success in transitioning to their forever homes, as they are raised in a family environment with other dogs, children, cats, chickens, the sights, sounds, and smells of a household. We expose them to outdoor potty training, sleeping in the crate, walking on a leash, and many other things that you just don’t get from a sterile, over-crowded kennel. Truly, the secret ingredient here is love!
We also participate in genetic testing. All of our parent doodles are tested and cleared for over 250 genetic conditions prior to being brought into our line. We carefully determine our pairs to prioritize health, temperament and coat. We include a 12 month genetic health guarantee for each and every puppy. You can read more about that in our terms.
So, what happens to our dogs once they are retired? Nothing, aside from being spayed. Our dogs are members of our family, so they don’t go anywhere once they are done having puppies. We follow recommended best practices to not over-breed our girls, because nothing is worth jeopardizing their health and safety. Typically our girls will have 3-4 litters between the ages of 2 and 5, and then they retire.
Choosing your breeder and puppy is a huge decision, and we are honored to be a part of that! Just being here, doing your research, means you care a whole lot, and so do we. Please contact us with any questions you have.
